Rick Foster blanks Chicago (A) with a 1-hitter

CHICAGO (A) - Great days are rare. But not for Texas'
right-hander Rick Foster. Chicago
(A) found out the hard way that he is among the leagues
top pitchers, getting just one hit. It's his 2nd shutout
this season, and the 6th time he has done it in his
career. With no outs in the 9th inning Jack
Bond singled to break up the no-hitter. 'That was
one of the best games of my career. I had my stuff
working very well today.' Foster (6-6) fanned 4 and
walked none, throwing 103 pitches. Salvador
Cuadrado provided Texas with the offense Foster
needed as he went 4 for 5, hitting two dingers, with
three runs scored and collecting 3 RBI. Texas improved
its record to 38-33, scoring 11 runs on 15 hits.
